Tinago Lecture

The Dr. Jovito R. Salonga Center for Law and Development provided a free seminar on relevant legal topics last  September 20, 2017 at Barangay Tinago, Dumaguete City.

Topics included in the lecture were the following: Alternative Dispute Resolution, Katarungang Pambarangay , RA 9262- VAWC, Libel/Defamation, and RA 9165-Comprehensive Drugs Act of 2002.

Volunteers from Foundation University College of Law and Jurisprudence namely Niñanne Nicole Balbuena, Chad Ian Rubio and Neapolle Fleur Blanco tackled on the Alternative Dispute Resolution.

On the other hand,  Cristine Joy Jagodilla, Ian Blanco and  Myrna Obus from Negros Oriental State University College of Law gave a talk on the basics of Katarungang Pambarangay.

Moreover, volunteers Anna Katrina Tan and Ceres Margaret Mangibin explained the RA 9262 – Violence Against Women and Their Children (VAWC). Adrian Vidal discussed Libel/Defamation while Joanne Cole Chua expounded on Marriage and its Requisites.  Edcarl Cagandahan emphasized the value of RA 9165- Comprehensive Drugs Act of 2002. All of these lecturers were from Silliman University College of Law.

Also present during the activity were Geraldine Fae Moragas,
Dam Ramacho and Gerard Rosales – all from the Silliman University College of Law and active volunteer lawyer, Atty. Leslie Joy Cuevas.
Salonga Center Director Atty. Mikhail Lee Maxino expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the participants and volunteers as he delivered the closing remarks.
