Salonga Center for Law and Development (Salonga Center)—with its director, Atty. Mikhail Lee Maxino, its staff, and volunteers from the Silliman University College of Law and Foundation University College of Law and Jurisprudence—expressed its gratefulness for all the blessings it has received all throughout the year by sharing the same with the children of the Amador Dagudag Memorial School Day Care Center as part of its annual Christmas Gift-Giving Program. Edcarl Realiza Cagandahan, Bachelor of Laws-II Philippine Legal Education Board Chairman Emerson B. Aquende was the first among the previous chairmen of the said board to apply the entrance examination called the Philippine Standard Admissions Test (PHILSAT) to persons interested in taking up Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD)  for S.Y. 2017-2018. Mikhail Lee Maxino, director, together with the law student-volunteers coming from various law schools in Dumaguete, namely: Negros Oriental State University College of Law, Foundation University College of Law and Jurisprudence, Silliman University College of Law, brought joy and shared humble blessings to the children of Sto. Niño Children’s Home on December 13, 2017. The Volunteers prepared a program filled with fun games, performances, and gift-givings.The program was made possible through the generosity of Atty. Mikhail Lee Maxino and family, Atty. Gracelyn Bellingan, our very own volunteer-lawyer and Mr. Kevin Bennett who sponsored for the food and gifts of the children. Editorial, Visayan Daily Star, October 11, 2008 The creation of an Office of the City Legal Assistance Service in Dumaguete that was unanimously approved by the City Council nine years ago is seeing daylight this year. We congratulate the sitting officials of the city for resurrecting the OCLAS with the support of the city government and the community. The launching of OCLAS will make it possible for indigent city residents and government workers charged with cases arising in the honest and sincere performance of their official duties to have free legal representation and assistance from volunteer lawyers and students from the law schools of Silliman University, Foundation University and Negros Oriental State University, and other law schools that might be established in the future.
